September 28, 2020
We are excited to announce that Bloomberg was honored with the Inside Market Data and Inside Reference Data Award for Best Overall Data and Service Provider 2020, bringing the firm’s total award count to five.
The Best Overall Data and Service Provider award goes to the firm who won the most Inside Market Data and Inside Reference Data Awards. These awards recognize industry excellence within the fields of market data, reference data, and enterprise data management and are decided by both firm submission and reader vote.
“The award for Best Overall Data and Service Provider shows that the products and services Bloomberg has built for data and data management are helping our customers through turbulent times,” said Gerard Francis, Global Head of Enterprise Data at Bloomberg. He added, “It is more important than ever to have reliable, resilient and readily available data to support our clients and their needs.”
Bloomberg’s continuous investment in data and services contributes to the firm’s goal of simplifying the complex process of discovering, accessing and integrating data for its clients. In addition, Bloomberg employs a One Data strategy, where clients can come to one firm for all their data needs – reducing the amount of work to the wrangle the data and avoiding issues with fragmentation. By creating an offering that serves clients in all of their needs from content, quality, access, usability, tools, and services – Bloomberg has addressed clients’ complex needs by providing them with simple solutions.
This year Bloomberg also expanded its offerings available in the cloud in an effort to make data easily available through multiple cloud providers. Additionally, Bloomberg recently announced that it has expanded its Alternative Data offering to include over 60 third party providers.
Bloomberg’s Enterprise Data group produces high-quality pricing, reference and regulatory data sets, real-time market, event and news data, liquidity analytics along with data management and distribution technologies.
The annual Inside Market Data and Inside Reference Data Awards, now in their 17th year, play a key role in WatersTechnology’s awards program, and are the only awards that feature a mix of call-for-entry categories determined by a panel of judges and categories compiled by WatersTechnology’s journalists and voted on by the brand’s readership. This year’s awards featured 32 categories in total: 21 call-for-entry categories, 10 journalist-compiled categories, and a hall of fame (lifetime achievement) award, the recipient of which was Mike Meriton, co-founder of the EDM Council and former CEO of GoldenSource.
