Bloomberg Launches Finance Pathways to Empower the Next Generation of Financial Leaders

July 16, 2025

Bloomberg today announced the launch of Bloomberg Finance Pathways, a global initiative that brings together influential leaders from the public and private sectors to unlock opportunities for the next generation of talent in finance.

Building on the success of the Bloomberg Women in Finance initiative, Bloomberg Finance Pathways expands its reach and ambition to connect talented students with influential figures across the financial ecosystem. Since its inception in 2022, more than 1,300 students in 14 countries have participated, gaining first-hand exposure to the finance industry through mentoring, training, and hands-on experience.

The new Bloomberg Finance Pathways identity reflects the initiative’s evolution—creating a broader platform to nurture talent, inspire future leaders, and strengthen the global finance ecosystem.

Working in collaboration with a global network of non-profit partners, the initiative aims to help participants develop their leadership potential and gain the skills required to begin successful careers in finance. By combining expert mentoring with experiential learning, it builds confidence and offers a clear view into career paths across the sector.

Jemma Read, Global Head of Corporate Philanthropy at Bloomberg, said: “Bloomberg Finance Pathways represents the next phase of our commitment to preparing future leaders for success in the financial sector. By connecting students with influential voices from across industries, we’re providing them with the tools and experience to realize their potential and helping to make the finance industry more accessible and future-ready.”

Through its ambassador network, business and policy leaders act as mentors and role models, guiding participants as they explore career opportunities across fields such as investment banking, sustainable finance, and financial technology.  The initiative also provides opportunities for companies and government institutions, including regulators and policymakers to host students, offering valuable first-hand experience across diverse professional environments.

Recent visits have included immersive experiences at financial institutions, stock exchanges, and policymaking bodies such as the European Parliament, where students engage directly with decision-makers shaping the global financial landscape.

Bloomberg Finance Pathways is part of Bloomberg’s global Corporate Philanthropy program, which supports initiatives that promote an inclusive global economy by expanding access to education and employment, ensuring individuals have the skills and opportunities needed to thrive in an increasingly interconnected economy.
