Bloomberg Convenes The 2019 Year Ahead Summit in New York

Bloomberg convened its seventh annual The Year Ahead Summit on November 6 and 7 at Bloomberg’s global headquarters in New York City. The event brought together executives to address newsworthy topics such as the future of social media and big tech, China and trade, the future of health care, the geopolitical climate, the streaming wars, cannabis, and more.
The summit kicked off with a special dinner on Wednesday evening focused on the year ahead in art and culture. The dinner featured a conversation with internationally renowned artist John Currin and sculptor Rachel Feinstein.

Highlights from the full day of programming on Thursday include a conversation with Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg, in which she said that the U.S. presidential election is the company’s “highest priority” for 2020.

Bloomberg’s Drew Armstrong sat down with President and CEO of CVS Health Larry J. Merlo for a wide-ranging discussion on the future of health care. Actor, producer and founder of the SJP Collection Sarah Jessica Parker and George Malkemus, a partner on Parker’s business and former President & CEO of Manolo Blahnik USA, spoke with Bloomberg’s Mark Miller about their shoe business. Parker said that she wants to be smart when expanding because growth in retail these days is “riddled with fear and risk.”
