Comprehensive medical insurance

While you choose your own medical plan, Bloomberg covers up to 100% of your medical insurance cost (Krankenversicherung) as part of your benefits package, and up to 50% of your nursing care cost (Pflegeversicherung) in line with limits set by the government.

Wellness programs

Bloomberg offers regular well-being seminars, resources, and online courses, to support our people, providing helpful health and wellness information. 

Employee Assistance Program (EAP) 

Bloomberg employees and their dependents have access to confidential, short-term (up to nine sessions) counseling; referral services are available to assist you and your family in working through problems, learning about available options, and finding solutions. Areas covered include marital difficulties, financial concerns, stress, anxiety, and other areas that may affect mental health. 

On-site health services

To protect you during the flu season, Bloomberg provides employees with free, seasonal flu shots that include the H1N1 vaccine.

Medical benefits abroad

Bloomberg recognizes the risks associated with traveling while on business. To give you peace of mind and security, we provide the Medical Benefits Abroad (MBA) Program. It’s designed to ensure your health and safety during business travel.

Emergency medical & security evacuation 

As a Bloomberg employee, if you experience a business travel-related emergency outside of your country of domicile or while on a short-term overseas assignment, emergency services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help.

Ergonomics 

A program is available to provide you with the knowledge, resources and tools needed for a safe and comfortable work environment. You have access to an online risk assessment as well as virtual or on-site desk assessments by a certified ergonomist. Support for special equipment can be provided based on individual ergonomic needs.

Retirement Savings Plan

When employees invest in their future, Bloomberg does too. We offer a retirement savings plan to help you build income for the future that’s enhanced by a generous matching contribution.

Disability insurance

The Long-Term Disability Plan is designed to provide replacement income if you are unable to work due to sickness or disability, and works in conjunction with the state long-term disability benefit.

Life insurance

Bloomberg provides basic life insurance for all employees at two times your base salary, up to a maximum benefit, paid 100% by the company.

Accidental death & dismemberment insurance (AD&D)

AD&D insurance covers you if you lose a limb, become permanently disabled or pass away while traveling on approved business. This coverage is in addition to basic life insurance policy and at no cost for Bloomberg employees. You are automatically insured up to ten times your base salary, subject to a maximum amount of $1,000,000.

Tuition reimbursements 

In addition to providing on-the-job training, courses and programs, Bloomberg provides a tuition reimbursement program of up to USD 12,000 per calendar year for all job- and business-related courses, including certifications. 

WFH stipend 

Employees new to Bloomberg can set up their Work From Home (WFH) stations with the assistance of a one-time  USD 500 stipend.

Family and life

Time off 

 Bloomberg offers 30 paid time-off days (up to 5 of which may be rolled over each year), a minimum of 11 paid holidays and paid sick days. We also provide leaves of absence to address a variety of personal situations, including family and medical emergencies, and more.

Parental leave 

Bloomberg offers up to 26 weeks of 100% paid parental leave for the primary caregiver to bond and care for your newborn, or adopted child from day one. Employees are also eligible to apply for unpaid parental leave in line with Government guidelines. Non-primary caregivers are eligible for 4 weeks of 100% paid leave.
