Interview Process
What to expect
Pre-recorded video interview
This is the process to assess your basic communication skills, interest in Bloomberg and your understanding of the role. It is also a great opportunity to practice articulating your answers to some of the interview questions.
Phone and reporter interviews
These are 2 separate interviews with a recruiter and a reporter. We will share more about the role, the department and the company, as well as ask you a few more questions regarding your interest and background. You are welcome to ask any questions you may have during this chat. Definitely talk about your passion for current events and writing. Any experiences in journalism should be emphasized.
Writing Test
This is a 3-hour writing test either in English or Japanese to test your financial knowledge and news writing aptitude.
Final Interview(s)
Your final conversation will be with Asia’s managing editor and/or the global head of News training.

Read up on current events, especially those within your areas of interests. That shows us your passion for journalism and your ability to tell news-worthy stories.
Research
Do your homework about the company to understand how we work – both as a news organization and as a leading financial service provider.
Articulate your motivation
Be ready to explain why you want to be a journalist. There isn’t a right or wrong answer. We just want to understand your motivations. Relax, be yourself and good luck!
