Call for 2013 Bloomberg New Energy Pioneers

November 19, 2012

The competition is getting heated for the “2013 Bloomberg New Energy Pioneers” award. (I blogged about it last month…We reward the biggest game-changers in the fields of clean energy technology and innovation.)

Hundreds of applications have been requested across industries including bio energy, water, software solutions, solar, wind, smart grid, energy smart technologies and electric vehicles.

Past winners of this prestigious award have gone on to enjoy great success:

The software services provider Clean Power Finance, who’s sales software is currently used by more than 40% of US solar companies, formed new partnerships with leading companies such as SunWize, Soligent, Paramount Solar Partners, Morgan Stanley Solar Solutions Corp. and Main Street Power earlier this year. Furthermore, CPF was awarded two additional SunShot grants worth $1.5MM by the U.S. Department of Energy to build an O&M marketplace and online brokerage for solar companies.

The 2012 winner LanzaTech, a New Zealand biofuels technology firm, signed agreements with Invista (the world’s leading nylon producer) and PETRONAS (national oil company of Malaysia) and was named the “TiE50 Winner for Entrepreneurship Excellence” and a “World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer 2013” after winning the 2012 New Energy Pioneers award.

The 2011 New Energy Pioneer eMeter, a smart grid and consumer engagement software provider, was acquired by Siemens several months after winning the award to become part of Siemens’ Smart Grid Division.

Here’s what Takadu CEO Guy Horowitz said about his win:
