Outcome Probabilities: BSports Match Analysis Tool to Provide
Outcome Probabilities for Every Game This Season

LONDON — Bloomberg Sports (BSports), the world leaders in
sports analytic technology, today unveiled its first ever end-of-season projections for the Primera División (La Liga).
Forecasting the final position of every team in the league, the
projections are uniquely data-driven and take into account
previous years of performance for each club, supplemented by the
additional value that each club gained from the transfer window.
The full BSports 2013/2014 La Liga table and methodology can be
found at

The table indicates that Barcelona will again win the La Liga
title, its second successive and fifth championship in the last
six seasons, with Real Madrid, under new manager Carlo
Ancelotti, closing the gap to Barcelona to just two points.
Valencia, despite the high profile departure of Roberto Soldado,
will push Atletico Madrid to third spot – who themselves lost
Radamel Falcao to AS Monaco over the summer.

The BSports forecast expects Villarreal’s Primera División
experience will keep them up by just one point, having recently
been promoted from the Segunda División. Despite finishing six
points off the relegation zone last year Granada are predicted
to join newly promoted Elche and Almeria in the relegation zone.
“As fans around the world debate the 2013-2014 Primera División
(La Liga) season from a purely subjective standpoint, we are
adding our mathematically-derived predictions to the debate”
said Bill Squadron, President of Bloomberg Sports. “Using the
same objective data analytics that drives our Match Analysis
tool, we are pleased to unveil a purely data-driven projection
for each team. Not only does this make for great content for
fans, but it also provides data that helps them beat the
