Bloomberg News and Asian College of Journalism Launch India’s First Co-branded Financial Journalism Program

World-class Program Draws Upon Roster of Veteran Reporters and Business Leaders

Chennai, April 18, 2017 –Bloomberg News and the Asian College of Journalism (“ACJ”) today launched India’s first co-branded financial journalism post-graduate program, designed to equip students with new, essential skills needed in a modern global newsroom.

The ‘ACJ-Bloomberg Postgraduate Program’ will teach students the latest journalism skills related to writing and editing, digital and multimedia reporting, ethics, investigative reporting, fundamentals of finance and government reporting. Supported by leading financial press such as Mint and The Hindu Business Line, some courses will be led by some of the country’s renowned financial journalists and business leaders.

ACJ has also appointed Jarshad N.K. as the Dean to oversee this program. Jarshad was formerly Deputy Editor at The Hindu Business Line, India’s leading business and financial newspaper and website, based in Chennai.

Jarshad N.K. commented, “I’m excited to be leading our first batch of students through the inaugural year of this unique journalism program in India. We built this course from the ground up to be the most relevant and innovative financial journalism in the country today and we think the students will be getting a lot of practical value from it.”
