Bloomberg Announces Accommodations for U.S. National Day of Mourning, December 5, 2018
December 03, 2018
Bloomberg will implement the following measures to accommodate market participants during the U.S. National Day of Mourning to be observed on Wednesday December 5th:
U.S. Equities Trade Execution & Settlement:
U.S. Equities markets will be closed for trade execution on Wednesday, December 5.
For settlement, the DTCC has announced that its subsidiaries will remain open on Wednesday, December 5, to clear and settle securities trades from earlier market activity and to conduct all other normal business activities.
Fixed Income Trade Execution & Settlement:
Per recommendation by the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, Bloomberg’s FIT<GO> will not be available for U.S. Treasury and Agency trading on Wednesday. For settlement of U.S. Treasury and Agency securities, settlement will automatically default to Thursday, December 6, for securities trading on Tuesday, December 4. This will be in effect after U.S. market close on Monday, December 3.
Futures Trade Execution & Settlement:
Bloomberg Tradebook will treat Tue, Dec 4th like a Friday and Dec 5th like a Saturday.
Bloomberg Fixed Income Evaluated Pricing (BVAL):
On Wednesday December 5, 2018, BVAL will be on U.S. holiday schedule for all U.S. dollar denominated bonds. BVAL requests will return pricing from the previous business day for impacted securities.
Bloomberg Indices:
On Wednesday December 5, 2018, Bloomberg Indices will be on U.S. holiday schedule. There will be no numbers published for U.S. markets. Global indices will be published as usual.
Data Feeds:
Due to exchange and venue closures on December 5, some securities will not show any updated pricing. In addition, data derived from a December 5 settlement date may now reflect a December 6 settlement date. All datasets will be published according to their normal schedules unless otherwise notified.
Trade/Settlement Calendar (CDR):
CDR has been updated with changes in exchange trading and/or settlement service provision on Wednesday, December 5, for the following exchanges. This information is current to the best of our knowledge as of U.S. market close on Monday, December 3.
