Summer Heats Up For Commodities

August 27, 2015

The commodity markets are not on summer holiday. Declining oil prices, China’s currency devaluation and changing weather means that there has been plenty of attention on these markets.

Bloomberg remains driven to provide tools that make this complicated job simpler, and has now added WATT<GO> and NEWC<GO> to its suite of commodity tools.

WATT<GO> is a function that allows customers to view power generation from more than 300 power plants around the United States, using data generated by Genscape. In addition to commodity traders, equity analysts and researchers can use data from WATT<GO> to understand and identify trends linked to companies or energy-related sectors of the economy.

To stay on top of any new changes and features as they are introduced, NEWC<GO> has been added to display information on the latest commodity updates.

From the September issue of Bloomberg Markets magazine, a closer look at the key commodity functions.
