Bloomberg Wins Best Index Provider and Data Vendor at the ETF Express US ETF Awards 2023

October 27, 2023

Bloomberg is pleased to announce it has won three awards at this year’s ETF Express US ETF Awards 2023 for the following categories:

  •       Best Index Provider – Fixed Income ETFs
  •       Best Index Provider – Commodity ETFs
  •       Best ETF Data Vendor

For the second time this year, Bloomberg was voted “Best Index Provider” for the Fixed Income ETFs and the Commodity ETFs categories taking home wins in the US and Europe ETF Express ETF Awards. This reflects Bloomberg’s commitment to providing its clients with benchmarks that represent both the marketplace and investors’ needs for benchmarking, asset allocation, and product creation across the globe.

For fifty years, Bloomberg Fixed Income Indices have been the most widely used for fixed income investors seeking objective, rules-based, and representative benchmarks to measure asset class risk and return. Bloomberg offers flagship benchmarks, including the Bloomberg US Aggregate, as well as a growing selection of Euro, Asia-Pac, China, Emerging Market, Municipal, High-Yield, Inflation-Linked, ESG, Climate and other custom indices. The Bloomberg Commodity Indices offering continues to expand beyond the Bloomberg Commodity Index (BCOM) flagship product, providing clients with an increasingly diverse set of benchmarks for complex views into the commodity markets, such as the recently launched Bloomberg Commodity Carbon Tilted Index.

“This award is another testament to the hard work of the Bloomberg Indices team who remain dedicated to addressing client requirements across regions and asset classes as we build out new benchmarks and further enhance our flagship offerings,” said Allison Stone, Head of Multi-Asset Index Product Management at Bloomberg Index Services Limited

Investments in exchange traded products like ETFs have significantly increased over the last decade, and with their popularity comes a unique set of data challenges to keep pace. The win for “Best ETF Data Vendor” recognizes Bloomberg’s comprehensive, high quality data on over 12,000 exchange traded products (ETPs) spanning ETFs, exchange traded commodities (ETCs), and exchange traded notes (ETNs). Bloomberg’s ETF data is readily available on the Bloomberg Terminal and earlier this year, Bloomberg announced the launch of its Funds Data Solution making this data available for scalable, enterprise-wide use via Data License.

“We are honored to be recognized as a leading provider of ETF data, especially given the growing demand for this information,” said Maureen Gallagher, Head of Enterprise Reference Data at Bloomberg. “We recognize the importance of comprehensive, interoperable data to enable clients to act on fast changing investment opportunities and streamline end-to-end workflows . With the introduction of Bloomberg’s enterprise ETF data solution, customers can now access fixed income, equities, derivatives, and funds data in one place making it easier to devise investment strategies, evaluate performance, support compliance workflows, and more.”

The ETF Express US ETF Awards are designed to recognize excellence among ETF issuers and service providers across a wide range of categories, including equity, fixed income, commodity, smart beta, thematic, active and ESG. Nominated firms for the service provider categories are based on a widespread survey of more than 100 issuers and other key industry participants, and the voting for all of the winners is conducted via an online poll by the ETF Express readership, which is carried out over a period of several weeks.
