Bloomberg Wins Best ESG Regulatory Solution at RegTech Insight Europe Awards

We are proud to announce that Bloomberg has won Best ESG Regulatory Solution at A-Team’s RegTech Insight Europe Awards 2022 – Bloomberg’s second ESG award in 2022.

The annual RegTech Insight Europe Awards highlight RegTech solutions that throughout the year have successfully improved firms’ ability to effectively respond to the evolving and ever more complex regulatory requirements across the global financial services industry. These awards are reader voted which means readers of A-Team, our clients, selected Bloomberg as the winner in the Best ESG Regulatory Solution category.

Bloomberg’s EU Taxonomy data solution enables firms to assess the proportion of their investee company’s revenue that is Taxonomy Aligned following a four step approach: Eligibility, Significant Contribution, Do No Significant Harm, and Minimum Social Safeguards; as well as debt use of proceeds that are Taxonomy aligned. Bloomberg’s dataset includes both company reported EU Taxonomy data and estimates on up to 50,000 companies globally. Critically, for estimated EU Taxonomy data, Bloomberg closely adheres to the requirements as defined by the regulatory technical specifications, mapping company reported data to each criteria to output EU Taxonomy-ready data.

Bloomberg also helps investment firms with SFDR reporting, in particular the challenging disclosure of Principal Adverse Impact (PAI) indicators, for which many corporations do not currently disclose meaningful data. Bloomberg maps SFDR’s PAI requirements to ESG data on over 13,000 companies in more than 100 countries, covering 88% of global market cap. This data can be used in a firm’s own reporting and risk management systems or Bloomberg’s analytics tools to support portfolio reporting and monitoring investment guidelines.
