The BWBN Brazil program also discussed the Bloomberg Market Concepts, a self-paced e-learning course that provides an interactive introduction to the financial markets. After the presentation, the young women who attended got to ask questions of the panelists in special mentoring break-out sessions.

Bloomberg Corporate Philanthropy designed the program and invited young women who are undergraduate students and participants in two organizations:

  • ismart, a non-profit organization that provides low-income, high-achieving youth with access to professional development and guidance programs; and
  • Instituto Ser Mas works with young people in the construction and realization of their life projects, whether through the achievement of their first job, entrepreneurship or dedication to an academic, artistic, research and social engagement career.

“Bloomberg understands that education and new skills are essential for women who want to keep moving up the ladder on the buy-side. We hope the BWBN Brazil will help move us toward a more inclusive and equal future for women in Brazil’s asset management market,” said Geraldo Coelho, Bloomberg’s Latin American Business Executive.
