At Bloomberg, we are Proud to Be
October 25, 2021
Black History Month is a time of remembering, but also a time of celebration.
Pride, whether it’s professional or personal, focused on heritage or culture, is essential to who we are. What we’re proud of plays an integral part in individual identity and self-worth, and, for those who are under-represented or the victims of inequality and injustice, can provide strength in the face of self-doubt and challenges.
In recognition of Black History Month in the UK, the Bloomberg Black Professional Community is sharing some members’ thoughts on what makes them proud, touching on authenticity, leadership, and legacy.
Make it happen here.
Grace – Proud to be authentic
“Proud to be able to bring my authentic self to work while showing up for my community”

Jason – Proud to be intersectional
“Proud to be a representative of many intersecting identities. I am mixed heritage, I am a QPOC and all of these things shape my perspective”

Samuel – Proud to be neurodiverse
“I am proud to be in a space where we can embrace our neurodiversity, and not only see it as a strength but unapologetically be ourselves.”

Annick – Proud to be a leader
“Proud to be a Black woman leader who actively contributes to a more equal and inclusive work environment at Bloomberg and mentors junior talent”

Richard – Proud to be a voice
“I am proud to use my voice to lead the necessary conversations to bring about the progressive change needed in the most crucial areas affecting my community.”

Sonia – Proud to be me
“I am proud to be me because I make a difference to my community and my family. I am here to create a legacy for future generations and stand as a reminder that we must shine our light and walk in our power.”
