Tepper is number 15 on the overall ranking of US business schools. The Pittsburgh-based school is known for its flexibilty and responsiveness to a rapidly-changing business world. It established management science as a scholarly discipline, as noted on its website. And it has a strong history of fostering entrepreneurship and supporting startups, many through Tepper’s Swartz Center of Entrepreneurship. The Center is often singled out by students who have started their own ventures. As one graduate noted in survey comments, it’s “an excellent launchpad.”
Of the five indexes this ranking is based on — Compensation, Learning, Networking, Entrepreneurship and Inclusion — Carnegie Mellon (Tepper) ranked 4th in Entrepreneurship, 5th in Learning, 7th in Networking, 20th in Compensation and 47th in Inclusion. Index scores are based on student and alumni survey responses as well as salary data the school reports to MBA CSEA.
