Biography

Siegfried Meister was born in 1938 and gained qualifications as an electrical engineer before taking a range of jobs in the electronics and kitchen technology sectors. He worked as a manager at German catering chain Wienerwald until 1973 when he left to start Rational, an ovenmaker.

Meister's new company had success from the combination steamer that was invented in 1976 and was unique because it used both hot air and steam to cook food.
