He owns 67% of the company with his son, according to a Dec. 29, 2021 company filing.
Ma Jianjun, a spokesman for the company, declined to comment on the net worth calculation.
Qian was born in February 1958. He majored in philosophy before graduating from Nanjing University in 1987. After working in various trade companies, he set up Ecovacs in 1998, according the company filings.
The business launched its first vacuum cleaner product in 2001, according to the firm's website. It grew substantially over the next two decades and began selling products to more than 80 countries around the world.
It started trading publicly in Shanghai through an initial public offering in May 2018.
