Oct. 2 (Bloomberg) -- Piper Jaffray Senior Research Analyst Gene Munster discusses Apple's iMessage glitch with Emily Chang on Bloomberg Television's "Bloomberg West." (Source: Bloomberg)

Why is it happening?

I not only understand it but i have experienced it.

The messages look like they get sent so they turn blue but the word delivered does not show up underneath.

You have to be in tune to see if that word shows up.

If it shows up, you're getting your messages across.

Essentially, this is another lack in the roll out.

It impacts a small percentage of people but it's a black guy just like maps was a year ago.

I think it gets to that this is a big upgrade but it is always difficult to get everything right across the board on important part of the phone.

Texting is in the top three most used parts of a smartphone.

Some of us on the team here had the same problem.

Ios7 has had a series of unexpected glitches like a security glitch where you could hack around a lock screen without a password and fingerprint issues print how serious are these issues taken together?

It is part of the process of them getting their arms around how to do some of these web services.

At the end of the day, it is probably not owing to impact someone's decision to buy or not i and iphone.

Generally people will look at this and say there are bugs in it but they will get it work out and they probably will.

At the end of the day, it's a black eye but it is something apple will recoup from.

We can tell that they cannot make them fast enough.

We will see how long that holds up for them.

Any numbers on your sales expectation for this quarter?

We are looking for units to be a couple of percentage points.

They updated their guidance after the first weekend so that is pretty much mailed in.

It will depend how december plays out.

The comp in december is easier and we are looking for 13% growth.

That seems like a doable number and we feel comfortable with that.

The other wild card is what they will say about gross margin.

I stuck to the higher pricing and we will see if that is positive.

Thanks as always for weighing in on apple.
