Nov. 12 (Bloomberg) -- MKM Partners Analyst Patrick McKeever discusses the retailing sector on Bloomberg Television's "Money Moves." (Source: Bloomberg)

Been suffering to some extent in recent quarters.

What you think we're going to hear this time around?

They have had a pretty tough year so far.

Same-store sales slightly negative, same-store traffic is negative, that is a key indicator.

I think what they are going to tell us is more of the same in the third quarter.

I think traffic will be down a little bit, partially offset by higher than average ticket.

The forecast is more of the same in the fourth quarter.

I do not see a uptick ahead.

Is there anything that the company can even do in the sort of economic environment when its core consumer is at the lower end of the economic spectrum is still suffering and in many cases is still jobless or is not working as many hours as he or she wants.

Is there anything the company can do?

Can the prices be even lower?

Is that even possible?

They can sharpen up on price even more.

There is a point at which they are the low price leader.

That has been the case for a while.

There certainly sharpening up on price.

They are being more innovative and creative with their merchandising.

They are taking a more aggressive approach there was a new product and some exclusive items and that sort of thing.

They're pushing very aggressively with e-commerce.

They are investing a lot of money in e-commerce.

More consumers shop with their smartphones and in front of their computers.

You think walmart will be more indicative, do you think the weakness will be merely across the board or are there some retailers who are going to be able to fare a bit better?

They are the largest retailer in the world.

To some extent, yes, i think they will be, there -- they will be indicative of what we can see across retailer.

There are winners and losers.

The ones that have been doing very well are the off price apparel stores.

I think they will do well over the holidays.

I think the dollar stores will do well.

Thank you so much for joining us.

We will be on the markets once
