Sept. 10 (Bloomberg) -- Independent U.S. Senator Bernard Sanders of Vermont talks with reporters in Washington about prospects for removing chemical weapons from Syria without military action and reasons he feels the U.S. should not become involved in Syria. A group of senators led by Republican John McCain of Arizona and Democrat Charles Schumer of New York are drafting an alternative plan setting benchmarks for Assad to relinquish chemical weapons to UN inspectors, according to a person familiar with the Senate talks.
