July 19 (Bloomberg) -- Half of the seats in Japan's House of Councillors, parliament's upper body, are up for election July 21st, offering Prime Minister Shinzo Abe the opportunity of solidifying his party's control over the Diet. Polls indicate the government will win a majority, easing the path for its legislative proposals. Abe plans to introduce structural reforms later this year aimed at reviving the world's third-largest economy, building on the monetary and fiscal stimulus already deployed. Aika Nanao has more.
