July 15 (Bloomberg) –- NASA'S flying observatory lets scientists reach the edge of the atmosphere to look at the stars. The heavily-modified Boeing 747 carries an ultra-powerful telescope that captures images neither satellites in space nor telescopes on the ground can achieve.
