July 6 (Bloomberg) -- Prime Minister Mario Monti’s cabinet approved 26 billion euros ($32 billion) of spending cuts to shrink the size of the Italian government and delay for at least a year a 2 percentage point sales tax increase that threatened to deepen the country’s recession.
