March 13 (Bloomberg) -- Stanley Fischer, the nominee to be Federal Reserve vice chairman, defended his experience at Citigroup Inc., saying it was valuable in his role as bank supervisor. Fischer, a former Bank of Israel governor who served as vice chairman of Citigroup from 2002 to 2005, spoke in response to questions from Senator Elizabeth Warren, a Democrat from Massachusetts, during his nomination hearing before the Senate Banking Committee.
