Sept. 4 (Bloomberg) -- Applications for unemployment benefits in the U.S. were little changed last week, rising by 4,000 to 302,000 in the week ended Aug. 30, a Labor Department report showed today in Washington. Separately, the U.S. trade deficit in July unexpectedly narrowed 0.6 percent to $40.5 billion, the lowest level in six months, as exports climbed to a record.
