Nov. 13 (Bloomberg) –- Former SeaWorld Employee John Hargrove discusses the documentary film `Blackfish’ and the company’s legal battle with the OSHA. He speaks with Pimm Fox on Bloomberg Television's "Taking Stock." (Source: Bloomberg)

He resigned from seaworld this is "taking stock" for wednesday, november 13, 2013. i'm pimm fox.

We have so many people who were affected by the move -- movie.

We had no idea it would reach this many people.

The reaction we got a sundance and the people who bought the film, it exceeded box office expectations.

We premiered on october 24. nearly 1.4 million people watched it that night.

It was the most-watched cable show of the evening and it was the most-watched film with the highest ratings for the entire year.

That part of it has been incredible.

We want people to hear the story and the message.

We check to seaworld and they said that the movie "blackfish" is misleading and inaccurate.

Can you speak to that issue?

What is so interesting about this is that even newt gingrich called out seaworld.

He says that they all went to the public to come on tv and defend themselves against these issues.

All they will do is put out these carefully crafted, carefully worded prepared treatment.

They will not defend themselves on television.

To be fair, there is a threat to public lawsuit any legal issue of what they can and cannot they will stop they are under investigation because of these issues.

There is still a legal battle with osha.

There is a harder question about separating moms from their house -- from their calves.

They just announced their profits.

Where did he whale seabees profits?

They are making all this profit, but the whales do not benefit from the prophet.

They are making hundreds of millions of dollars in tax-free profits every year.

It is a perfect example of the corporate greed and explication that is going on in to buy rice.

For this to come out, and for them to brag that they are making record profits, i think it will harm their image.

Give it back to the whales.

Give it back to the animals.

To be fair, we have to say that the prophet a make are taxed like any other -- the profits they make are taxed like any other corporation.

How did you manage to become part of the seaworld family?

I always wanted to do it.

I wanted to have a relationship with these animals, the physicality of the job.

The thought of being in the water with the whales.

How smart are the whales?

Much smarter then i could describe just sitting here.

I did this for 14 years.

There were times in my career where i was completely blown away by the intelligence of these animals and the level of problem solving that you see going on.

It is mind-boggling.

More and more as we are learning about the brain and what the brain is capable of, more things that we see from these animals, people are realizing the full range and capacity of how intelligent these animals are.

If you had to do it again, would use the go into this line of work?

It is a tough question.

The memories i have from that career, i will cherish those for the rest of my life.

I cannot think of anything else that i will do in my life that could compare to being in the water with killer whales.

But as me saying no meant that those whales were free, then i would say no.

I say that with a heavy heart.

The thought of even taking away those memories that i have, all
