July 18 (Bloomberg) -- Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke says one reason for the recent rise in long-term interest rates is the unwinding of leveraged and "excessively risky" investing. The climb in market interest rates could also be attributed to improved economic data and misinterpretations of the Fed’s plans, Bernanke said in response to a question from Senator Tim Johnson, a South Dakota Democrat, during his testimony before the Senate Banking Committee.
