May 31 (Bloomberg) -- The Singaporean government has been trying to reduce the number of vehicles on the road this year leading to a surge in the cost of car ownership. A Toyota Camry in Singapore can cost nearly as much as a house in the U.S. Singapore tries to control congestion by limiting auto permits.
