Feb. 22 (Bloomberg) -- Kevin Rudd resigned as Australian foreign minister, opening the way to challenge Prime Minister Julia Gillard for the nation’s top job. Rudd, 54, told reporters in Washington he will return home to Australia to consult with family and colleagues on his future and said he would make a statement before parliament resumes next week.
