Jan. 18 (Bloomberg) -- Republican presidential front-runner Mitt Romney said yesterday that his effective tax rate was "probably" closer to 15 percent because his income "comes overwhelmingly from investments made in the past." The former Massachusetts governor, one of the richest men to seek the presidency, probably benefits from a controversial tax break that allows him to pay a lower overall rate than do millions of American wage-earners.
