Jan. 11 (Bloomberg) -- Japan's Tohoku region is betting on the local auto industry's production of hybrid cars to help rebuild the quake-affected region’s economy. Toyota Motor Corp., Asia’s largest automaker, began building its smallest hybrid vehicle, the "Aqua," at its affiliate Kanto Auto Works Ltd.’s plant in Iwate prefecture.
