Dec. 12 (Bloomberg) -- Derek Cutright, a Southwestern Energy Company drilling manager, gives a tour of a hydraulic fracturing, or fracking operation, in Camptown, Pennsylvania. Natural gas is extracted by pumping millions of gallons of chemically-treated water and sand underground, breaking up the rock to free trapped gas. At this site, Southwestern reduced the number of trucks associated with the process by pumping water from a nearby stream and recycling used water. (Source: Bloomberg)
