Nov. 22 (Bloomberg) -- In Alberta, Canada, the extraction and transportation of oil from the bountiful tar sands has led to a conflict between concerned citizens and some of the world’s biggest energy producers, who are looking to tap the estimated $14 trillion in Canada's oil-sands reserves. The January issue of Bloomberg Markets magazine examines this booming market and the efforts of TransCanada Corp. to build a pipeline to move the oil from Alberta through the U.S. to the Gulf of Mexico.
