July 27 (Bloomberg) -- Thomas Fanning, chief executive officer of Southern Co., discusses the company's second-quarter profit and growth outlook. Southern, the largest U.S. utility owner by market value, said net income rose 18 percent to $603.3 million, or 71 cents a share. Fanning, speaking with Betty Liu on Bloomberg Television's "In the Loop," also talks about the implications of the bipartisan debt-ceiling negotiations in Washington for the economy.
