May 10 (Bloomberg) -- Federal Communications Commission Chairman Julius Genachowski talks about the new nationwide emergency notification system that will allow government officials to send emergency alerts directly to mobile-phone users. The system will be inaugurated in New York and Washington and is expected to roll out nationally in April 2012. Genachowski, who speaks with Lisa Murphy on Bloomberg Television's "Fast Forward," also discusses Microsoft Inc.'s planned purchase of Skype Technologies SA for $8.5 billion. (Source: Bloomberg)
