April 15 (Bloomberg) -- Scott Kessler, head of technology equity research at Standard & Poor's, discusses Google Inc.'s first-quarter profit and operating costs. The largest Internet-search company said net income climbed 18 percent to $2.3 billion, or $7.04 a share, and operating expenses rose 54 percent.
