Feb. 3 (Bloomberg) -- Gordon Smith, president of the National Association of Broadcasters, talks with Bloomberg's Megan Hughes about the possibility that the Federal Communications Commission will assign television stations to new frequencies in order to meet growing demand from wireless devices. More airwaves are needed to ease a "spectrum crunch" that is bringing network congestion as wireless use grows, FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski said last month. He urged Congress to act quickly to authorize auctions that would pay TV stations for giving up airwaves. (Source: Bloomberg)
