Aug. 18 (Bloomberg) -- The New York Mets won’t pay Francisco Rodriguez until he’s fit to play baseball again. The relief pitcher, who had season-ending surgery yesterday to repair a torn ligament in the thumb of his throwing hand, was placed on Major League Baseball's Disqualified List. Rodriguez was injured during an altercation with his father-in-law in the Mets’ family lounge after a game at Citi Field last week. Bloomberg's Michele Steele reports. (Source: Bloomberg)
