March 9 (Bloomberg) -- Chile’s government said it will need to import emergency temporary housing to meet the needs of 500,000 people whose homes were severely damaged by last month’s 8.8-magnitude earthquake as the official death toll rose. The government has identified $4.8 billion in expected reconstruction spending, including $3.6 billion for hospitals and $1.2 billion for roads, bridges and ports. Bloomberg's Michael Smith reports.
