Jan. 14 (Bloomberg) – Bart Chilton, a commissioner at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, talks to Bloomberg’s Peter Cook about the outlook for a proposal by the CFTC to propose hard limits on the number of energy futures a single investor can hold. Chilton, speaking from Washington, said the proposed limits will not lead to traders moving assets overseas. Swaps dealers, index funds and commodity traders have been waiting for the proposal since last June, when the commission held hearings amid concerns that speculators drove oil prices to a record high of $147.27 a barrel in 2008.
