Mexico is the fifth largest producer of coffee in the world, yet per-capita consumption in Mexico is less than one kilo per year, compared with three in both the U.S. and Italy. Pablo Gonzalez hopes to change that. His Café Punta del Cielo is on its way to becoming Mexico's first gourmet coffee powerhouse. Today, the company has 32 retail outlets, plus agreements with Mexicana and Aeromexico airlines, Costco, Krispy Kreme, and a major Mexican hotel chain, Posadas de Mexico. An Endeavor member since 2005, Cid has access to mentors in Mexico who are helping refine the company's franchising strategies. Two MBA interns redesigned the company's Web site, designed a new coffee machine, and developed new publicity initiatives.
