A Month of Pumpkins

Middle-school art teacher Scott Cummins, of Perryton, Texas, has a family and a full-time job but "is lucky enough to be able to divert a little free time to the pumpkin carving one month a year." He figures he's carved hundreds of pumpkins, many of which can be seen on pumpkingutter.com. "While I've tinkered with another fruit or two for fun, I'm really not a sculptor," he says. "October and pumpkin-carving pretty much represents all of the three-dimensional work I'm involved with."
