Population increases, electricity demand growth, fossil fuel volatility and climate change all suggest a solid future for nuclear power, particularly in developing countries. "In the longer run, the underlying fundamentals ... continue to point to nuclear generating capacity playing an important role in the energy mix," the International Atomic Energy Agency wrote in August.
