A new 28-room hotel set within the soaring space of a nineteenth-century chapel in Nantes, a handsome old port at the mouth of the Loire that is one of the fastest-growing cities in France. 

The look: This ingenious hotel was built so that it might one day be removed without damaging the historic chapel that surrounds it. Many of the rooms in the edgy all-white interior incorporate exposed vaulting, stained-glass windows, and other architectural elements of the original structure. Read more.
