"Pong" (November 1972)

Boop. Blip. Bloop. The sounds were primitive, as were the visuals. Rectangles on each end of the black screen lobbed a square ball back and forth, with numbers at the top to keep score. But 40 years later, the game that was created by Atari's Allan Alcorn is one of the most popular of all time. Few games have matched its simplicity or addictiveness.
