'Memogate'

"Memogate," also known as "Rathergate," refers to a CBS "60 Minutes" broadcast in September 2004 highlighting four documents that questioned George W. Bush's military service in the Air National Guard. After blogs challenged the documents, it was discovered that they were forged and that CBS had failed to authenticate them. Within months, Rather stepped down as anchor of the CBS Evening News.
