Deaths Near Ramallah, 2002

Sharon addresses the nation in a live broadcast on Feb. 21, 2002, speaking about a recent killing of six Israeli soldiers at a checkpoint near Ramallah. Sharon said that he will not be dragged into war. Instead, he would implement a Cabinet decision to set up buffer zones to give Israelis additional security. Hamas and the Al-Aqsa Brigade claimed responsibility for the attack.
