The state’s energy-efficiency resource standards (EERS) program for utilities sets long-term energy savings goals and drives investment in utility sectors. New York has one of the most aggressive savings targets in the country. The ACEEE flags the Empire State’s reduction target for total vehicle miles traveled, one of only a few states to impose one.
