Morrow Lake

Spill responders stopped the flow of oil at the Morrow Lake dam, about 38 miles downstream from the spill. That eased concerns that oil might travel all the way to Lake Michigan.

Morrow Lake, at the western extent of the spill, reopened on June 21, two years after the spill. An adjacent area called the Morrow Lake Delta remains closed.
