Conservative commentator Glenn Beck held a
"Restoring Honor" rally on Aug. 28, 2010, the 47th anniversary of
the March on Washington. “Something that is beyond man is happening,” Beck said to a crowd of supporters. “America today begins to turn back to God.” Former Alaska Gov. Sarah
Palin also spoke.
Critics of the event said it dishonored King's memory, according to media reports at the
time. Civil rights activist Rev. Al Sharpton held a concurrent rally to
commemorate King's march.
